Dear Alumni,

On behalf of everyone at Weill Cornell Medicine, we hope that you and your families are doing well during this difficult time.

In just one month, COVID-19 has dramatically altered the way we live and work. Many of you have found yourselves at the center of this crisis serving your communities and facing unanticipated challenges.

Your well-being is Weill Cornell Medicine's top priority. As such, we have been closely monitoring guidelines from the CDC, as well as state and local health agencies, to ensure the health and safety of our alumni community and have decided that Reunion 2020 will no longer take place as scheduled.

The Medical College, the Alumni Association and the Reunion Committee put muchthought into this decision, and many of our alumni have strongly urged us to cancel. While Reunion is a celebration that alumni look forward to every few years, this event also requires many of you to travel from other states and countries. Taking into account the global efforts to slow the spread of the virus, we believe that holding a large-scale event in New York City—the current epicenter of the virus—isn’t prudent.

But all is not lost! We plan to reschedule this reunion—celebrating milestone anniversaries for classes ending in 4, 5, 9, and 0—for the fall of 2021. Once we finalize a date, we'll share the new reunion plans with you.

Thank you so much for understanding. This was a difficult decision, but we believe it's the right one. Please contact the alumni office at alumni@med.cornell.edu if you have any questions.

Best wishes,
