Alumni Association Annual Fund

Weill Cornell Medicine alumni are part of a lifelong network of leaders who are committed to advancing medicine. As a Weill Cornell graduate, you are at the forefront of scientific innovation, clinical care and medical education.

Grounded in your foundational medical school experience, your energy and deep connection to our institution help to drive our growth and enrich the life and culture of Weill Cornell Medicine, on campus and beyond. Donations to the Alumni Association Annual Fund are used to advance the future of medicine and ensure the success of the next generation of Weill Cornell Medicine alumni.

Your support is essential.

Gifts to the Alumni Association Annual Fund strengthen our bonds within the alumni community. The programs funded by the Annual Fund and the initiatives run by the Alumni Association build upon your medical school experience and provide ongoing opportunities for networking and friendship. Exciting reunion events, annual alumni awards, ASK sessions, newsletters, and the sharing of alumni updates and notes allow us to connect with one another and celebrate the accomplishments of our fellow alumni.

Weill Cornell Medicine alumni are committed to enhancing the experience of current students. Annual Fund contributions from alumni directly enhance student life by supporting student groups, events and special initiatives that enrich the student experience, stimulate innovation and create community.

The Alumni Association board votes regularly on the best use of donations to the fund.

SPOTLIGHT

The Student Groups Granting Program

Launched in fall 2023 and funded by the Weill Cornell Medical College Alumni Association, the Student Groups Granting Program is designed to increase the impact of alumni support for student activities.

Weill Cornell Medicine student groups apply for grants through an open application process held twice a year. Groups approved for funding provide detailed reports on the use of funds, the impact of their projects and their groups’ future plans.

Our student groups oversee a remarkable array of projects, including educational events, mentoring programs, cultural activities, community initiatives and fitness programs.

Some of the groups’ impressive accomplishments include the following, achieved in 2023-2024:

    • Created community for first-generation and low-income students through sponsored group dinners
    • Established the Weill Students for Harm Reduction (WiSH) Clinic to provide clinical care for patients with substance use disorders and those who inject drugs, many of whom experience homelessness
    • Supported Code BLOOM (Black and Latinx Overcoming Obstacles to Medicine), a student-run mentorship program for underrepresented Hunter College-CUNY pre-medical students
    • Encouraged the Weill Cornell Medicine community to practice sustainability and climate health dialogue by supporting the institution’s Environmental Health Collective’s Winter Sustainability Festival
    • Provided new opportunities for students and alumni to connect through the creation of Weill Cornell Medicine Club Pickleball’s Alumni and Student Pickleball Tournament
